One and a House

I moved into a house on Graves Farm a while back and I don't think I chose the right time of year to do so.  You see, living alone is okay with me; I can handle it.  I enjoy cooking (mostly because I like eating good food), I don't particularly disagree with cleaning, and I can generally keep myself amused when alone.  I have all kinds of activities like reading, cooking, working on my car, bike, the Ercoupe, fixing the house, working on something for the boss, writing, and all kinds of other stuff.  But there's something real weird about Fall/Winter that mess with my mind.  When the weather changes and the clouds form overhead, I feel a need for company.  This time of year I need company.

I will do fine alone, but it isn't really my preference.  There is something about the lack of sunlight that makes me need to confide in others.  Coffee and cocoa become beverage norms and they tend to be a social drink, so the drink without the social seems oxymoronic.  The closed house and warm fire call for company and companionship.  You can ask my parents and they will tell you I nearly live by the wood stove in the winter.  There is a lot about the cold season's character that calls for company.

Now my house is not the prettiest or coziest, but if you ever want a hot meal, stop by and I will see what I can do.  I have a fireplace and I have a clean kitchen with a stove (although electric.)  If you help, we can even bake up some hot bread.

Keep cozy,
Joshua

I will make it a point to stop by and see what you can cook up for me soon. And...your company is always welcome at our house. :)

(I'm a new follower) I love good food. I'd be happy to share a meal and time. Also, I just found out today that people don't get enough vitamin D. We get it from the sun, but because most of us don't stay out much through fall and winter its hard to get enough. Maybe it would help with the lonely feeling too.

S.C., thanks for dropping by. I know exactly what you are talking about. I actually mentioned it last February in my post, "The Yellow Ball" http://joshuajayg.blogspot.com/2011/02/yellow-ball.html

Let me know you are coming and I will prepare something yummy.
